Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – September 8, 2025: The Minister of Youth and Sports of Djibouti, H.E. Nasa Ige, accompanied President H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh in a high-level meeting with Somali President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday during the African Climate Summit in Addis Ababa.
The discussions focused on bilateral relations, Somalia’s ongoing efforts to re-establish governmental authority, and ways to enhance youth engagement and development programs across the Horn of Africa.
Under the leadership of President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Djibouti reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Somalia’s economic development, security, and social progress, providing continuous and diversified assistance to strengthen the country’s stability.
H.E. Nasa Ige highlighted the importance of youth and sports initiatives as tools for regional cooperation, peace, and empowerment, emphasizing Djibouti’s support for programs that connect Somali youth with opportunities in education and athletics.
