The focus has been on the coastal stretch between Afgoye and Marka, areas known to be focal points for the militant group.
According to military officials, the troops have established new forward operating bases and checkpoints along this coastal corridor, aimed at thwarting potential Al-Shabaab incursions and securing the region.
The operations have not only involved tactical maneuvers but also led to the arrest of several individuals suspected of Al-Shabaab affiliations. These detainees are currently under investigation, with details of their involvement yet to be disclosed.
